With this work I chose open gestural strokes to explore the sense of a previous holiday I once enjoyed. In this memory as it resurfaces in dreams there are elements of a vase, drying peppers, and a horse. More importantly these elements seem incongruous and enigmatic but perhaps they imply the exhilaration and dread I experienced alone upon a beach in a different culture. The composition remains unresolved but within it lies the body of other things, entreating questions which magnify the flux of memory, doubt, and confidence I battle with now. It is inquisitive and my self imposed inquisition.
