This\u00a0installation addresses communities&#8217; unwitting participation in the broken systems that benefit government and corporate entities who place financial gains over individuals&#8217; basic rights and freedoms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: medium; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\">Kimberly Vandenberg,\u00a0<i>Return Passage to Equilibrium<\/i>, acrylic on canvas, 2020. This painting series explores themes of colonization, loss, and resilience. Each painting is connected to the stories and memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: medium; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\">Candace McPherson,\u00a0<i>These Images are Inspired by True Events<\/i>, digital print on aluminum, 2020. Paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite era that are based on literature and folklore portray women with passive gazes and sensuous figures, bringing attention solely to their youth and beauty.
