{"id":4561,"date":"2023-03-23T22:27:40","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T22:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sag.ufvsoca.ca\/sag\/?p=4561"},"modified":"2024-04-08T20:07:09","modified_gmt":"2024-04-08T20:07:09","slug":"the-laramie-project-digital-art-competition","status":"publish","type":"exhibition","link":"https:\/\/sag.ufvsoca.ca\/sag\/2023\/03\/23\/the-laramie-project-digital-art-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"The Laramie Project: digital art competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Currently enrolled UFV students were invited to submit an original digital art piece, providing their own perspective on or response <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/creative-arts\/current-students\/hands-on-learning\/theatre-auditions\/the-laramie-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to the themes of\u00a0<em>The Laramie Project<\/em><\/a>, as part of a digital art competition with a top prize of $3,500 cash and an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ufvcascade.ca\/\"><em>The Cascade<\/em><\/a>\u00a0about the winning entry.<\/p>\n<p>Selected entries were printed and exhibited at the UFV S\u2019eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery; with winners and honorable mentions receiving a longer exhibit in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ufv.ca\/health-and-social-innovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Health and Social Innovation (CHASI) Hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CHASI and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/programs\/theatre-degree\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UFV Theatre Department<\/a> invited UFV students to submit digital artworks that explored their own perspectives: love, loss, hope, pain, pride. What does it mean to be LGBTQ2S+ in the world today? What has changed and still needs to change? How has your identity or that of a loved one impacted, enriched, or shaped you?
