Opening Reception: Wednesday, January 7, from 12 – 1 pm
On view January 7 – 23, 2026
The student-led exhibit Lenses captures the experiences of living life through multiple different points of view. Zöe Crowley, Finn Toews, Gray Engler, Kay Ber and Chandradeep Majumder speak on lived experience, dreams, concerns, memory, humanity and expression through sculpture, painting, collage and lino printing. The artists are BFA and VA diploma students in the School of Creative Arts (SoCA) at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Finn Toews’ blue-skinned acrylic works explore the relationship between oneself and the concept of future and past. Kay Ber questions the concept of value through assembled sculpture and depicts people from around the world through medium-scale mixed media collage. Chandradeep Majumder expresses feelings of home, nostalgia and memories through sculpture and installation. Zöe Crowley’s acrylic and mixed media works show an almost story-like unravelling of expression and sense of self. Gray Engler’s lino printing works speak on their core human experience and explore how dreams affect the conscious thought.
This exhibition opens on January 7, 2026, at the S’eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery, located on the UFV Abbotsford campus, and runs until January 23. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, January 7, from 12 – 1 pm in the gallery. All are welcome to attend, and admission is free.
